Second Semester
This course introduces statistical concepts including , Sampling, Estimation theory (Point and Interval Estimation), Hypothesis testing, Analysis of Variance, Correlation and Regression analysis, Multiple Regression, Statistical Forecasting and chi-square test of independence
Learning Outcomes:
- At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Derive and compute maximum likelihood estimates and estimators
- Formulate and test hypotheses about population means and variances
- Understand Type I and Type II errors
- Find the power of a test
- Carryout one-way and two-way analysis of variance
- Compute least square estimates for regression parameters
- Perform and interpret chi-square test of independence
