First Semester
Engineers
will need to deal with ever-increasing globalization and find ways to prosper
within an integrated international environment, and meeting challenges which
cross cultural, language, legal, and political boundaries, while respecting
critical cultural constraints and differences. Sustainable engineering practice
should meet human needs for natural resources, industrial products, energy,
food, transportation, shelter, and effective waste management while conserving
and protecting environmental quality and the natural resource base essential
for future development.
First Semester
Objectives: The central goal of this course is to provide students with a deeper understanding of assessments, measurement and evaluation of learning. It leads students through a reflective critique of assessments and evaluation practices and procedures in Cameroon schools. The course will equip student-teachers with knowledge and skills in test planning, types of evaluation, measuring instruments, types of tests and test construction, test administration, analysis and evaluation.
First Semester
Objectives: Students should be able to explain and discuss the major issues driving the field of STEM education; demonstrate knowledge of the content of STEM subject areas, discuss the current trends in STEM Education; trace the evolution of the discipline; explain the methods commonly used in educational psychology; explain educational psychology as a bridge stepped on at both ends; and discuss the way forward for STEM Education within the context of evolving technologies. First Semester
Objectives: At the end of the course, students should: Become aware of STEM Education and its values for teaching and learning. Master and discuss issues in STEM education. Identify strategies for teaching and learning in STEM education. Distinguish between constructivist models of teaching and learning and the use of interdisciplinary STEM Curricula. Identify strategies for assessing and evaluating student understanding in STEM education.
First Semester
Objectives: Foundations is a foundational course in the STEM cluster for students interested in learning more about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEM content resources and laboratory/classroom activities allow students to apply science mathematics and other school subjects in authentic situations
