The course is aimed at providing an overview of  mine design and operations fundamentals with a focus on the future trends which consider where the industry will be in the next decade(s). topics vies an over-arching significance to social, environmental, health amd safety considerations in traditional designs and operation decision-making.At the end of the course  the students would have aquired skills on theory based problem solving motivating self-reliance and independence; they will also show a mastery of mining environment security. some of the topics treated in this course will include; theory of elasticity, strength and deformation of rock, insitu stresses, methods of escavation Analysis, mine fill anddesign of filling systems, rock and cable bolt systems, hydraulic yielding roof support systems, mine seismicity etc.
